I’m Patty Grasher, a Vancouver, Washington writer, radio host, guidebook author, and organizer of local book events.
Mostly, I love good stories. Some are found in books. Some are found in old buildings, river walks, neighborhood bookstores, and conversations with people who have spent years creating something from the heart.
This site is where I gather those threads together: my radio show, my guidebook, local book events, and the small discoveries that make life in the Northwest interesting.

Northwest Book Talk
Right now, my happiest creative work is hosting Northwest Book Talk, where I visit with authors, illustrators, historians, and creative people from around the Pacific Northwest.
Some conversations are about cozy mysteries. Some wander into local history, children’s books, memoir, fantasy, writing life, or the odd little road a book takes before it finds its readers.
It is not a formal literary program, and I do not want it to be. I think of it more like pulling up a chair with someone who has written a book and asking, “So how did this story find you?”
