Introducing my old friend, Mr. Doubt

A rather constant companion for me. Soon as I get a brilliant idea, get started on it – in he comes. Below is my latest brilliant idea.

My idea was to take my brilliant idea all around to different parts of Vancouver . . . and see if I could get any laughs . . .

but whether I actually have enough courage to do that is doubtful.

Especially after Mr Doubt himself and several of his buddies, (What will People think; Are you Crazy; and Just Forget it) have shown up and are telling me to “Not be so stupid!”

Introducing my brilliant idea

a I got this crazy mad idea to promote my Adventure Words business by creating a fun guy, named “Vancouver Sam” that I could take around Vancouver and do different things with – sort of like the “Elf on the Shelf” only this would be Vancouver Sam.

A bit of history to this . . .

In the monastery I created Esmeralda. This was long before the Elf was even born. I made up Sr. Esmeralda with an old habit, veil and tights stuffed with socks for legs. All in all she came out not too bad. She showed up first in the dining room for breakfast. Then she made the rounds to various places before finally spending several weeks laid out on a bed in the guest room. She didn’t say a lot but she produced a lot of laughs.

She did get in serious trouble though when I had her sitting at the piano in the music room and the Abbess started talking to her and she didn’t talk back. This is not something you do with the Abbess as it’s considered very rude. The Abbess got quite upset about her belligerent behavior till she realized who it was.

Vancouver Sam

Anyway back to Vancouver Sam. I had him sitting again on the couch and Jon and I went out for a bit. In the meantime Buddy decided he would introduce himself. I think the fact that Sam is wearing Jon’s old jeans and Buddy is “always” sitting on Jon’s lap he felt it was the place to be.

Very funny. He is still here, hours later.

Please add “your” three gratitude moments in the comments. It’s a great way to pick up your day and it’s fun for the rest of us to read!

  1. Buddy and Vancouver Sam getting along.
  2. Cooler day.
  3. Yesterday Portland had a tornado! Unusual for us. Only one house damaged though quite a few trees.
