Sunshine Thoughts

Friendship is important. Someone or someones to share life’s moments. Family friends, long time friends, new friends. All good.

I remember reading an article once that family and friends were more important even than your job. It was about making a decision whether to move for upward job mobility – and it was cautioning about making the jump too quickly. Friendship takes time to grow and abandoning it can have a direct impact on your happiness.

I mean obviously as one is starting out in life that decision has less weight as we are still finding ourselves and life and all that. But once we have developed a more stable life than the friendship becomes a definite factor to consider.

I know of times where older people left their life time friendships to move closer to family. What happened? The family who wanted to be so close to look over and watch over their parents did not make for a happier life for the person who moved. In many cases although family was important and close – not having friends their own age and with shared interests left them very lonely.

Always a decision.
