Inspirational Quote of the Day on Encouragement

“A word of encouragement
during a failure is worth more
than an hour of praise after success.”

An Encouraging Word

First of all I want to start this blog post with a HUGE thanks for all the people on this blog who have shared so many encouraging words to me on my down and low days. You are awesome and I am so appreciative of you. Thank you!

I know I can give myself all sorts of pep talks and read encouraging books but nothing beats having someone actually share an encouraging word or two, one on one.

One of the encouraging people from my past was my high school English teacher, Miss Peterson. She allowed me to take her Poetry class a second time just because I loved the class and had gotten an A in it the first time. When I got out of the Navy she was the only teacher I continued to reconnect with and when I made the decision to enter the Monastery she was my confidant for that as well. For the first ten or so years I was in the monastery she would send me a Christmas shoe box full of all sorts of small gifts like pens and pencils, note cards, small flashlight, sewing things, etc. I think she collected items throughout the year for my box. She is missed.

Perhaps today I will write about her for my book. Does anyone have an encouraging teacher friend story?

And the book goes on . . .

Yesterday it took a lot of coffee and a lot of self pep talk but I did get back to working on the book. I am determined . . .

The Countdown is on!

126 days to book publication.

I\’ve set up a scheduling page for 30 minute phone chats to talk about your story idea. It takes away a lot of the back and forth. Do give it a try with this link 30 minute Phone Chat with me And of course it doesn\’t have to be a whole 30 minutes if you want to make it even just a couple minutes! 🙂

You can also email me at patty@pattygrasher.com or call or text me at (360) 949-0929. If you call please know that I don\’t always respond to numbers (spam) I don\’t recognize but if you leave a short message I will call you back.

The Lord is my strength and my song,
and he has become my salvation;
this is my God, and I will praise him,
my father\’s God, and I will exalt him.\”

  1. HI,

I would have to say several teachers in high school (nuns) and one of the priests, God rest his soul. Such positive influences in my life. I kept in touch with them for years and years. During Ecumenical 1 and 2 many religious left the order. Two of our nuns left, the others stayed. So many changes in the church at that time.

    Take good care Pat !
