Hold Your Eyes on God

I found this quote and it attracted me but now that I sit down to write a bit about the quote I feel baffled. How really does one hold ones eyes on God?

There is the scripture quote from 1 John 4:20 that says, \”For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen.\”

So there you have Saint John saying you can\’t see God so what does Saint Jeanne mean to hold my eyes on God that I cannot see? I am tempted to go find another quote but with the little amount of theology I have I would probably be bamboozled by that as well.

Okay, I am being ridiculous I suppose, obviously she means this in a spiritual way but it still has me a bit baffled. Perhaps it works better for me if I reword it to say, \”Trust in God and leave the doing to Him.\”

I bet if I had the book about Saint Jeanne de Chantal in which the quote was taken I would understand better. Or maybe I\’m just having a cloudy brain day and tomorrow when I read it, it will make sense.

1. Grateful Buddy has realized we are not going to let him out and has stopped \”Meowing!\” (He has an early curfew when it gets dark earlier.)

3. More leaves chomped up by Jon\’s chipper-shredder vacuum. He chomps and I carry them off in a wheel barrow to mulch garden and flower spots. Almost done for the season. I hope.
