“Evil draws its power from indecision and concern for what other people think.\”

Indecision

Well, this quote had better go on my white board because I am definitely the Queen of Indecision. I found this today on Pinterest when looking at other things and it zeroed in on me. \”Grab this and hold on to it,\” it said.

Working on my book today and trying to go a bit deeper into the places where my editor said I had tiptoed. It has become a fun challenge but I think I need the quote to keep me from waffling from \”what do people want me to say, expect me to say, etc. etc.\”

Of course I don\’t limit my indecision\’s to just writing I have enough supply of the stuff to spread it around pretty thick on everything. Except eating of course. I have very little waffling around that subject.

Currently as I move ahead with my business of becoming a Pinterest Manager for Catholics I bounce from one side of the spectrum to the other. Since I am no longer in as Catholic environment as I once was I find that it\’s harder to stay on track. Which of course was a big reason for going into the monastery in the first place.

But there is no indecision for me on that subject. I wrestled too mightily for to long to get back into that, rather my indecision rests rather on just how \”Catholic centered\” I want to go. That sounds pretty scandalous I expect but there it is.

My main thought is that I tend to be more of a liberal Catholic (and that has always been the case) and I have never liked condemning people because of their sexual orientation or beliefs or anything else that sometimes happens when religion gets narrow. My belief is that God is the judge on such matters and I\’ve never felt he needed my help to take care of such things.

Anyway will see how it goes.

Here\’s a funny thing. I just Googled to find the Scripture quote I wanted from Saint James on indecision. Surprisingly I found a page with 25 Bible verses about the subject. Guess I\’m not the only one having trouble with this at times. 🙂

Scripture quote for the day

But he must ask in faith without any doubting, for the one who doubts is like the surf of the sea, driven and tossed by the wind. For that man ought not to expect that he will receive anything from the Lord, being a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.
James 1:6-8

Please add \”your\” three gratitude moments in the comments. It\’s a great way to pick up your day and it\’s fun for the rest of us to read!

  1. Trying a new Tuna burger recipe. Can\’t wait for dinner.
  2. Tonight or soon will watch the old Gary Grant movie, \”Topper.\” Been a long time since I saw it but just remember it was funny. As I read the back of the movie cover (it just came in today\’s mail) I find that it is quite different than the book. In the book the ghosts are just bent on having a good time but in the movie they have sweetened it up to them wanting to do a good deed to get in heaven.
  3. Good day. Nothing spectacular just a good day.

  1. Seems to me I watched an old black & white TV series named Topper when I was a kid. He was a ghost! It must be based on the movie you referred to in your post. Wow! Talk about nostalgia!!

  2. I love the Topper movies, they are wonderful. I have been watching several Bette Davis movies on Turner Classic. Great movies.
The book is your’s Pat, it is your writing and your feelings and your expressions and no one else’s. Your book will be wonderful.
