“Gratitude turns what we have into enough.”

This post is replacing Gratitude 13 that got over written

I did not want to leave a day out of the sequence and since I accidentally over wrote day 14 over 13 – this is the makeup. 🙂

Having Enough

I am reading a small little book that I found at the library called, \”Snow Hunters,\” by Paul Yoon. It is written in a very quiet, calm manner about a Korean man who spent two years in an American prison during the war and then was allowed to leave. He chose to go to Brazil where a job was arranged for him to work as a tailor.

I thought it would be a nice, easy read but there is a lot of pain in it as expressed during his flashbacks but it is still good. I think it might become a classic one day. A blend of sadness, compassion, kindness and love. A thinking book. A book that makes one grateful for what one has.

How much is enough? Apparently very little reading this book.

Update on Book Edit

Well, as I expected the edit was severe and I guess I almost need to go back into a complete rewrite or something. I don\’t know. I rather expected it. The biggest takeaway was that I did not go deep enough – reveal the inner workings of the soul.

That is sort of a deep hole I don\’t know I want to lower myself into. I like things to be rosy and nice. Anyway I have put so much money into doing this that I am in crazy debt so no matter what I am going to push through it all and at least get it publishable.

I have decided no matter what I will work one hour a day on it. That\’s about as much as my soul can handle for now. Do that first thing in the morning and then move on to other things.

Scripture quote for the day

“Always find something to be thankful for, even in the hard times.\”
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Please add \”your\” three gratitude moments in the comments. It\’s a great way to pick up your day and it\’s fun for the rest of us to read!

  1. Did one hour on the book and was manageable.
  2. Making slow but steady progress on Pinterest Management course.
  3. Time to go start dinner. Sausage (vegan style but good) potatoes and peppers. Yum.

  1. Hi,
I can understand how difficult it would be to bear your soul and to go to that level and stir up issues. If you get a chance read the book Educated, a Memoir. Quite deep and raw at times, but amazing in the end.
    Grateful for crisp cool weather
    Chance of snow this week
Sleep over with 2 of the grands tomorrow night
