Gratitude helps you to grow and expand; Gratitude brings joy and laughter into your life and into the lives of all those around you.”

Gratitude helps you to grow

How do you measure growth? I don\’t think it is something that one recognizes until time has passed and you look backwards and say, \”Yes, I have grown from that place I was. I am no longer there. I have moved forward.\”

Gratitude can change your mindset immediately. Like turning on a light in a dark room, the light of gratitude illuminates all that was there before that you couldn\’t see.

In working on my memoir I mention how before I entered the monastery I went to a prayer meeting at Gonzaga University to listen to a Catholic Lay Evangelist named Charlie Osburn. His talk was a big part of my conversion experience for doing as much as I could to spread God\’s love. Anyway I needed a bit more information to fill out what I was writing this morning and in visiting his website I found that he offers two free books (pdf format) that you can download.

I downloaded both of them and am starting to read them again. Sort of like a renewal for me. Enjoying the first one a lot, though I am only on the second chapter.

Gratitude helps you to expand

Imagine finding out that you can do something so simple as to think grateful thoughts and your whole life expands?

Not only that but because you fill yourself with a new feeling of gladness, joy and peace from thinking gratitude thoughts you send out that same energy to all that you come into contact.

I wonder if they did neuroimaging study of people thinking grateful thoughts what kind of brain energy waves it would show?

Scripture quote for the day

\”I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.\”
John 10:10

  1. Took a small trip to Albany, Oregon today to be with my sisters and family. Went to an estate sale for fun. Bought some Christmas things. Think I feel more like Christmas this year already.
  2. Listening to Pandora – \”Classical for Studying Radio.\” Nice station
  3. My Pinterest site is up to 200,000 monthly views. That is pretty darn amazing for me!
