“It is through GRATITUDE for the present moment that the Spiritual Dimension
of Life opens up.”

Eckart Tolle

\"\"

The Present Moment? Not so good.

Well I have to admit that today\’s present moment required a bit of beer cheer to make it bearable. No, nothing dramatic – just got myself into a tizzy thinking about all the things I have been trying in the last few years and how they all turned to be stupid decisions.

That is not a very positive thing to say but it was just how I let the day unravel itself. Of course I \”should\” cover it all up with nice, thoughts like I have added a few more sweet learning experiences to life but how it really feels, is that I keep making stupid decisions. That\’s how it feels.

The gloomies. They are everywhere.

Oh well that is the state of my present moment. Perhaps the next moment – tomorrow, will be more positive. I am sure it will.

Gratitude and the Spiritual Dimension

The Spiritual Dimension of Life though definitely shows more promise. And after all, being financially stable is not as eternally minded as being spiritually stable.

Every day my friend, Cathy sends a Spiritual email to me and a few of her friends. Today\’s bit of Godly wisdom I am sharing as my Scripture quote for the day. It is nice and puts things in better perspective for me.

Scripture quote for the day

\” You have turned for me my mourning into dancing; you have loosened my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness, that my glory may sing your praise and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give thanks to you forever.
Psalm 30:11,12

Please add \”your\” three gratitude moments in the comments. It\’s a great way to pick up your day and it\’s fun for the rest of us to read!

  1. Made Cauliflower soup for dinner. Jon had to come to my rescue with the recipe and cooking it. Is the craziest, craziest recipe. Written by a chef who leaves out half of the directions. Yikes.
  2. Rainy day but we need the rain so am grateful for it.
  3. Almost finished with another good book by Dorothy Benton Frank called, \”By Invitation Only.\” Such a good writer.

  1. Hi Patty,
I would like to address your comment about your ‘stupid decisions.’ I don’t see any of your decisions in that light at all! Everything we do is just another step closer to our authentic life. Just like when you go to the doctor with a health issue: You are examined thoroughly, tested for this and that — maybe blood is taken or Xrays scheduled. All to check and used to eliminate some diseases so the doctor’s focus can be narrowed to the exact cause of the health issue. Isn’t that what you are doing: Examining different options, testing certain projects and/or programs — may be trying a few projects or program options to see if they work? You are using all of this to compile data to narrow your focus on what you truly want to do.
Be patient with yourself Patty! You will work things out as long as you keep moving forward!
    Good luck!!

  2. I think you are really hard on yourself. We all
Make decisions that in retrospect we might not have thought thru but that doesn’t Make it stupid. Relax and take decisions as learning experiences. If we decided that our decisions were stupid nothing would ever be accomplished.

  3. I love the pictures and quotes you post. Your writings are inspirational, thank you so much. I looked up Dorothy Benton Frank and her books look good. I will have to check out a few of her books. I read that she passed away in September of this year.
    Grateful for:
Heat and protection from the bitter cold we are having
    My children and grandchildren
