“Be thankful for what you have you\’ll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don\’t have, you will never, ever have enough.”

What you have

This morning I got a quick text from my friend Barb saying that today\’s post (Tuesday) was not showing up. Took a look into the situation and realized I must have saved over the post when starting a new one. Barb said, \”Bummer.\” I agreed.

But then as I thought about it didn\’t turn out all that bad. Although I was congratulating myself for actually doing the next post first thing this morning it actually was a much better post than the one that got wiped out. So even though I am not ahead as I hoped I\’m not out that much.

And I already created the puzzle image and Pinterest image so that is a win for working on this post.

End up Having More

Hmmm. Not sure if this really happens. I mean, I am not totally convinced. I do know that a grateful spirit opens one up to seeing more positively, acting more positively and believing more positively so perhaps once all that is in play the \”more\” finds an easier place to settle down and sit awhile.

I myself, just have to be careful I don\’t slip into magical thinking that I can just conjure up good things by thinking good things.

At any rate if one appreciates what one does have – then that alone, all by itself is a wonderful thing. 🙂

Concentrate on negative

Well, we all know that looking at the bad side of things is a bad thing to do. Course I rather expect a lot of us do it anyway. At least before we catch ourselves and get off that negative highway to nowhere as fast as the first exit shows up.

Last night Jon and I watched a 20/20 show about a 12 year old girl who got stabbed at least 19 times by her two classmates. One of which was supposedly her best friend. Miraculously although left to die she managed to walk far enough for some one to find her and get help. It was a two hour long program but the very last part of the show the girl who was then 17 said she was thankful for the life she had now – and though bad things happened to her it made her into the strong person she was.

I wonder after this life if some of the people whom we might think are the most poor and needy will find that after their death they find their hardships prepared them to be incredibly blessed. I hope so. Not that it excuses us from helping the less fortunate right here and now but it would be nice.

Scripture quote for the day

“Always find something to be thankful for,
even in the hard times.\”
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Please add \”your\” three gratitude moments in the comments. It\’s a great way to pick up your day and it\’s fun for the rest of us to read!

  1. Cold, blowing winds. Glad to be warm inside.
  2. Working on new website
  3. Grateful for a lovely home with a wonderful husband.

  1. I think everyone will be blessed and happy on the other side Patty. I firmly believe that or maybe I need to believe that. I believe all will be wonderful after death and we will see all of our loved ones. I like to think all will be wonderful.
