Inspirational Quote of the Day on Encouragement

“ Sometimes the best thing you can do is not think,
not wonder, not imagine, not obsess.Just BREATHE and have FAITH that everything
will work out for the BEST.”

Have Faith

Whenever I was told to \”have faith\” about something I never found it to be the least bit consoling. It felt like I was being judged about how I was handling whatever was stressing me out at the moment and as I result I usually rejected the advice as \”wasted breath\” because telling me to feel different about how I was feeling was not acknowledging where I was at nor was it helpful.

On the other hand if I read a book about someone who shared an experience where they acted on faith and things turned out amazing I found that to be very encouraging. Or if I saw someone living a life of faith in even the smallest way I found that very encouraging. Basically I wanted to be shown moments of faith not told about them.

Yesterday I spent about an hour sitting in our car at the dentist parking lot while Jon was at his appointment. I had taken my Kindle so I could read or play games but instead I found myself praying Mother Teresa\’s Emergency Novena. I was hoping for assistance on moving forward with things like this blog and the book and just living the day to its best.

As I prayed I found myself quieting down, relaxing, trusting and actually having a bit more \”faith\” that things would work out for the best. Ever since leaving the monastery I have been at odds with myself about how to move forward with things, how much prayer and faith did I have and how much should I act upon the little I did have. The last couple of years I have been wondering how much of a \”Catholic life\” I wanted to live.

There are so many things about the Church, some of the teachings and practices that I don\’t buy into one hundred percent anymore and it felt as if I was I being honest with myself to call myself a Catholic. But as I started following faith filled Catholics who resounded more with my beliefs such as Fr. James Martin, S.J. and Fr. Richard Rohr, OFM, among others I realized that of all the billions of Catholics on the earth today – all of us are living out are faith filled lives a little differently.

And though I say I am Catholic, I acknowledge all peoples, of all faiths or none who are on this same journey of moving towards eternal life.

Perhaps the answer lies with the man asking Jesus to help his son who was having a seizure. \”Lord, I believe, help my unbelief.\”

Jesus said to him, “If you are able!—All things can be done for the one who believes.” 24 Immediately the father of the child cried out,“I believe; help my unbelief!” Mark 9:23

And the book goes on . . .

Still determined but it is certainly taking more coffee, pep talks and force full \”git er done\” than I had hoped.

The Countdown is on!

125 days to book publication.

The Lord is my strength and my song,
and he has become my salvation;
this is my God, and I will praise him,
my father\’s God, and I will exalt him.\”
Exodus 15:2
