Ecards, Puzzles, Oh my . . .

I\’ve been busy

I tried doing nothing for awhile but that got old very fast. I decided to swing back and pick up the work I had started in 2015 and then again in 2017 and now hopefully with better results in 2020. That is blogging about life in and about Vancouver, Washington.

It seems that blogging about \”me\” as in this site \”PattyGrasher.com\” gets a bit heavy. I\’m not really doing anything exciting enough to really talk about – but finding something outside of self has much more possibility.

So even though I let the domain I was using ExploringVancouverUSA expire I found that ExploreVancouverUSA was available and I liked it even better so I grabbed it and since then I have been off and hobbling. I would say running but as I get older a slower pace seems to be the order of the day.

At any rate I have started an eCard site with it and Vancouver themed puzzles available for the moment mostly from the home page. There is of course tons and tons of work to be done with it – and I have no idea that it will go anywhere but I\’m hoping and it keeps me happily occupied. And since I have started this \”Vancouver\” theme work twice before I am able to use a lot of the materials, images, etc. that I previously did.

So that is where my time and energy has been directed. And while in the past I tried to keep multiple plates spinning at the same time I\’m not really up to that for now. So this site is staying up – but it\’s sort of in hibernation probably until Spring. Maybe once a month check in.

And I would suggest you could join up with the mailing list if you wanted to stay connected with the Explore Vancouver USA posts – but I don\’t really have that up and running yet.

Keeping Sane during Election and Covid

I have found the self isolation and the overwhelming Election drama going on that it all seems a bit much. So I\’m reading books for enjoyment more, playing a few games on my Kindle and mostly just working on the new site and finishing up the family cookbook.

Hope all of you are staying safe and healthy. We do have one extended family member hospitalized with Covid 19 which makes it all much closer to home and more scary. Please wear your masks and stay safe!

Love to hear from you in the comments or an email and I apologize for sort of dropping off radar but . . . my coping skills have good days and ho hum days. 🙂

Gratitude Moments

If you would like, please add \”your\” three gratitude moments in the comments. It\’s a great way to pick up your day and it\’s fun for the rest of us to read!

  1. Beautiful fall day
  2. Grateful for the \”Serenity Prayer,\” to let go of what I can\’t change and work on what I can.
  3. Grateful for all of you who continue to stay connected through thick and thin!

Interesting, I was cleaning out old emails, and came across a Sunshine Notes alert from you, sent back in July. Not sure that was the last one I had received from you, but through some error, my email alert must have gotten lost, as I thought you had just stopped writing permanently. However when I noticed you have written at least one entry the past few months, I was happy to read them, and catch up on the fun things you are doing with your life now. Please put me on your subscription list once again–as your Blogs always give me a “pick up” — something I am in most need of at the moment. In just five days I will be saddened by the 18th anniversary of my husband’s death, and five days later the 1st anniversary of my dearest friend and caregiver for 14 years until he died quite unexpected November 10th, 2019. I still miss him so very ,very much, and haven’t found a way yet to cope with the loneliness. I would have to say, Patty, finding your Sunshine Notes is a Big Gratitude I have for this day. Sending much love your way, LaVern P.S. Could you please send me your email address. I wasn’t able to work the Message when you sent it to me last time.

    1. Hi Lavern – Yes, it has been a long time since I sent out a post – and then this morning it didn’t do it correctly – so, back to the drawing board on this.

So sorry for your loss – and loneliness is one of the biggest hardships of life I think. And of course this self isolation we all need to do – makes it even harder.

I wish I could do something to make you feel better – sending a big hug and a Thank You for posting your comment.

  2. Hi Patty,
It’s so nice to get your post. I have missed them. It was the “highlight “ of my inbox! I think we are all sort of in that hum drum mood right now due to the virus still hanging around and of course all the election hype and everything that goes along with those things. But, we have our loving God to lean on and we can be sure he is always with us. I’m glad you are doing pretty good and I look forward to hearing from you again. God bless you and Jon and May he keep you safe and healthy!
    ❤️ Sharon
