One of my most favorite book series is called, \”Small Miracles\” by Yitta Halberstam and Judith Leventhal. I have read only two of their books but today I was able to check out a new one from the library.

\"SmallSmall Miracles from Beyond by Yitta Halberstam & Judith Leventhal. It was published in 2014 so it\’s not hot off the shelf but doesn\’t matter to me. I hope to read as many of their books as I can get my hands on!

They are rather like the \”Chicken Soup for the Soul\” books but I think a bit more religious. The stories are mostly Jewish but they include other faiths as well. Personally I love the Jewish stories as I don\’t know that much about Jewish thought and practice and this is a very engaging way to explore another faith experience.

So far I have only read three of the stories but already hooked as I knew I would be. Try as I might I cannot escape loving the mystical aspects of life. Practical thought and practice just need to move over on the bench and make room for Spiritual nudges as well.

What is delicious about this book is that the stories will be mostly about family and friends connecting in some tangible way after death.

Another book I absolutely love is \”Whispers of Love: Touching the Lives of Loved Ones After Death\” by Mitch Finley. I just ordered a copy for myself again from Amazon because I gave my copy away long ago. 🙂

\"BookIt is a collection of stories as I mostly remember like the Small Miracle books. I remember how comforting it was to read even when I wasn\’t going through a personal loss at the time. I think it would make a wonderful consoling gift for someone recently experiencing loss.

Book Thoughts

I am thinking that I am going to start writing small \”Book Thoughts\” with this blog as a way to connect with other authors and readers about good books. Perhaps making this a book blog? I think it needs some sort of focus – and maybe books would be a good theme to center around.

I love all kinds of books (except blood and gory ones) and will just see how it goes.

Please add \”your\” three gratitude moments in the comments. It\’s a great way to pick up your day and it\’s fun for the rest of us to read!

  1. Finished a good book and got more at the library! Riches.
  2. Saw a new kitty on our walk. Fluffy orange one peeking out of a curtained window. Today\’s total was three – as we continue our daily cat walk count. 🙂
  3. Really loving Goodreads a lot. I just started a new account with my married name so kind of like starting all over – but fun!
