\"W\"Well, a bit has happened since my last post on Palm Sunday!

On Good Friday I notice I was having some eye trouble and I decided to quit my overnight job at the Villas. I had been praying for a sign of whether to continue on or not and I figured if it ever started to show up in health problems it was time to quit. I didn\’t know what the eye trouble was but didn\’t seem worth risking it to get worse.

I went through Easter Sunday and Monday with my eyelid inflamed but thought it would get better by itself. On Tuesday when it hadn\’t I went to Urgent Care where it was decided it was Pink Eye. On Friday my eye hadn\’t improved but worsened and I went back to Urgent Care. This time I had a doctor and she took one serious look and said that she thought it was Shingles in my eye. Much more serious than Pink Eye!

On Monday I will go to an eye doctor and get it confirmed or not. In the meantime the eye doctor (was late Friday afternoon) said I would be fine until Monday. I did get started on treatment right away though and this time I am seeing great improvement. Hopefully it will continue without developing any more seriously. My hope. I haven\’t gone back to work at the Villas since giving my two week notice because I have not been feeling well enough to do so. At this point I rather think I won\’t be going back at all as by the time it is cleared up my two weeks will be over. I really, truly don\’t want to work the night shift ever again. 🙂

I did create some Easter puzzles for Easter Sunday – but it was too hard for my eye to be on the computer for very long so I didn\’t get a message sent. At least Easter lasts 50 days I think so there is still time to enjoy if anyone wants to. The full set of Easter puzzles is here.

I am hoping in the days ahead to have more time to get back to adding puzzles and games more regularly.

Happy and Blessed Easter! Happy Divine Mercy Sunday!

  1. Patricia,

So sorry you are having the eye problem. I was concerned that you would overdo your body. Thankfully, the treatment is working. I am happy for you that you are not going to work at night. God intends for us to give our bodies rest. You are in my prayers and will continue to be.
    Have a Blessed Day
    Love. Mary B.

    1. Hi Mary,

Yes, I am very thankful that I am not working the night shift. The job itself of course was not so bad – just the sleep or lack of it!

I ask God to give you a Blessed day today as well. An old tradition is that you are supposed to get what you want if you ask it of a saint on their canonization day. I am asking for blessings for everyone of my friends (all those connected to Joy in Jesus) and family. Hope your blessing is HUGE!

  2. Hi Patricia

So sorry to hear you have shingles in your eye, not good and very painful. Pink eye would be bad enough to have and is highly contagious. I do not think the Villas would want you working there with either shingles or pink eye. Glad you will see a specialist this week.

I hope you had a wonderful Easter Sunday with your family minus the eye infection.

Another job will come your way. It will. Keep networking and it will happen. I am sure the Villas will want you to do day shifts for them or fill in for people on day shift. Night shift is too hard on the body and you do not get the healing sleep that is needed for the body.

Please keep us posted on the outcome of your Dr visit. Prayers are with you for a speedy recovery.

The puzzles are gorgeous. Thank you. I have missed your posts. Almost sent an email to you this week when we did not hear from you Easter week, I hoped all was well. Take good care Patricia.

  3. Hi Cathy,

Yes, well it does seem as if my Good Friday extended a bit – but I did have a nice Easter. I went to both services and enjoyed each one for its particular grace. God reaches out to all wherever we are.

Today is Divine Mercy Sunday and I am probably going to be staying home taking my meds. They have to be done exactly every 5 and six hours and that time period falls at the time. Also I am still a bit down so I think best I just stay and keep recovering.

Thank you for always thinking of me – you are a friend always.
God bless you lots and especially on this Divine Mercy Sunday and canonization of two Popes! How great a day is that!?

  4. Hi Patricia,

I too thought something must have been wrong for us to have heard from you through Easter week. Grateful you are ok and improving. And that you are going to the eye doctor tomorrow. You will be in my prayers, as always. Please keep us posted

Also, thanks for asking for us all to be blessed. My HUGE blessing came early (this past Friday) when a electric socket in one of my bedrooms went on fire and started to burn the wall. The blessing came in the form of my son just getting home from his job minutes before this happened and was in the room next to fire and smell it immediately. If I was home alone or out for the day it would have been much worse. He took control and calmed my frazzled nerves. Fire fighters were here in 2 minutes. And it was minimal damage. The wall has to be repaired and another blessing is my friends husband is an electrician and he came on Saturday and already fixed the problem with the electric free of charge. If not for my son coming home when he did it would have been MUST worse. So my HUGE blessings came in many forms on Friday and I do feel extremely blessed for all of them.

I took ask for blessing for you today and everyday.

  5. Wow! Charlotte your guardian angel was on full duty for sure. So glad your son saved you from a total disaster. And then to have your friends husband fix the electrical free of charge is truly a double blessing. Thank you for sharing your wonderful faith story!

  6. Dear Patricia,
Thank you for sending out your puzzle and information about your recent eye problem.. Will keep you in our prayer and hope to see more puzzles and good news when you feel better.
    O’Nell

  7. Glad you’re back,Patricia, but hope you get answers tomorrow re; your eye problem.

I enjoy the puzzles, but my 5 yr. old grandson really loves for us to do the memory games together.
    Happy Divine Marcy Sunday!

    God bless, Carol

  8. Hi Patricia,

Am sooooo sorry to read you might have Shingles in your eye! That has to be so incredibly painful. Please make sure you follow your Dr.’s orders as it is nothing to fool around with.

We will pour on EXTRA prayers for you. Give Pudge and Buddy a big kiss and hug from us.

Also, glad to hear you are leaving your night time job. That was way too much for you. With all that stress and not enough sleep it very well could have prompted your immune system to leave you open to getting Shingles.

    Love and Many, Many Prayers,

    Kathy M.

  9. Patricia, I have worked the night shift, and I know how hard it is.
I was much younger then, but I know that even then, I couldn’t have combined it with another job. It would have just been too hard.

I was concerned that you were trying to do too much, but didn’t want to discourage you if you felt you needed to do all that.

Am so relieved that you allowed yourself to stop and take care of yourself. You know, if we don’t take care of ourselves, God will sometimes force the issue for us!

Hope your eye gets better soon!
