Play Jigsaw Puzzle

“In the depth of winter, I finally learned that within me there lay an invincible summer.”

Albert Camus

Rain Outside – Summer Within

I have been driving myself crazy trying to think of a grand focus I could make my blog about. Something that I could live with, grow with and still find enough material to keep with it on a long term basis. Something that tied in who I was yesterday and who I am moving towards for tomorrow.

I decided I would make it about \”encouragement.\” It\’s something I am always trying to find for myself and a virtue I appreciate a lot from those of you who have supported me so much through thick and thin.

I had already picked a scripture quote for my home page a few days ago.

“Encourage one another while it is still today.”

Hebrews 3:13.

So I guess it is a seed that has been germinating for a bit.

MOVING FORWARD

And as part of my new (old) focus I am going back to doing this daily. For some reason it is just easier to do it every day than to try and do it \”just when I\’m in the mood,\’ because as you know my mood fluctuates more than the weather. So even though I am still living the retired life – this blog is back on the daily do list.

The last week or so I have been redesigning the website and if you haven\’t visited the home page for awhile it has taken on a new look. For one thing I am now going to include some of the recipes that I find and love. And I am also in the process of adding stories from the 101 books because . . . I just realized yesterday that it has been TWELVE years since I did a book on collected stories. And I want to do another one. Now. So that it is ready for Christmas.

Of course my problem is I don\’t know what it should be about – or who, where and how I can collect enough stories . . . but hey – when has that ever stopped me?

How about a book of collected stories on \”Encouragement?\” Stories of moments in which you were encouraged to do something, hold on during a tough time or were helped when you were in need. Small life events triggered by another person, a message of hope from something you read, heard from another or found through prayer or meditation.

Hmmm. Seems like it has possibilities. What do you think?

\"\"

Please add \”your\” three gratitude moments in the comments. It\’s a great way to pick up your day and it\’s fun for the rest of us to read!

  1. Morning walk in the rain. Got a little wet but we got it done.
  2. Moving forward with enthusiasm to do a new book of collected stories.
  3. Back to daily blogging. Hip Ho!

  1. Hi Patt,
Your book will be excellent! Encouragement is something that we all need and probably don’t get enough of!
I will send you my story when you start asking for them.
It will be great to read daily blog messages from you – I always look forward to them!

Stay safe and busy (that’s when you are happiest),
    Roby

    1. Thanks Roby! I have to say one of the biggest sources of MY encouragement is those like you who share in the comments and emails. So many times I only keep on, keeping on because of friends like you. So thank you!
And I am looking forward to seeing your story soon. 🙂

  2. Patty, I forgot to say that I really like the new look of your website!
Very colorful and bright and interesting!
    Roby

    1. Well thanks for that too! 🙂 Those are exactly the things I was aiming for – bright, colorful and interesting. So nice to have that confirmation.

  3. Patty, you made my day when you announced you were going to return to daily Blogging. I have enjoyed your writing for nearly twenty years–and right now need some daily encouragement more than ever — so THANK YOU so much for your decision to write daily messages.

Please continue to pray for me, as I pray for you.
    LaVern

    1. Hi LaVern! Yep – it seems crazy but it actually helps me to do the blogging daily as well. So I’m glad at least a few of you won’t feel overwhelmed with the daily – but then one doesn’t have to open it up and read it. I will admit to getting tons of emails I only read hit and miss. 🙂

I think there is a lot going on these days that is very stressful and encouraging one another , praying for one another and just being there for one another is more important than ever.

I will pray for you. 🙂

  4. So glad you will be back ….you always have wonderful things to share. Anything that you write about is always something thoughtful and meaningful. Have you ever prayed with the Concord Pastor Comments? He share morning and evening prayer and he never ceases to amaze me with his words. I have his book on Morning Prayer it was published a few years ago but it always seems timely.

    1. Hi Joan -Thank you for your nice comment I appreciate your kind words. Hmmm. I do not know Concord Pastor – I will see if I can Google him and find him – otherwise will have to ask you to send a link.

Hurrah! I found him at http://concordpastor.blogspot.com/ He does write in a fun and encouraging way – a sort of verbal prayer between himself, God and all who read his postings. Very nicely done.
