“In the middle of every difficulty
lies Opportunity

Albert Einstein

Look for the Opportunity

I\’m sure there is enough difficulty lying around that opportunities ought to be springing up all over the place! Now the trick is to do that mental switch and make the transition.

I remember reading somewhere that finding an answer starts first with asking the right question. And then I read somewhere that our minds love to solve questions or puzzles. So therefore I am thinking, if we just figure out the question and give it some prayer and time the answer will come.

And perhaps it won\’t be behind Door Number One that we think it should be but behind some other door that\’s facing a direction we are not even looking at.

Everything Changes

I keep thinking about how everything has changed since Covid-19. All of a sudden our day to day questions of every day living turned completely around. First there was lots of FEAR and anxiety and an almost blanket of desperation settling over everything and now it is sifting down to a \”New Normal,\” but it doesn\’t feel comfortable or permanent to me yet.

In fact where once we were glued to every news update about the virus now it\’s like, \”enough already\” isn\’t there anything else happening? We have started skipping through most of the TV news because it just is the same every night and it\’s hard to keep up that adrenaline angst at it\’s former pitch.

And now we have the Black Lives Matter movement – which I am totally supportive of – and almost in awe that actual changes seem to be happening but I will have to admit even that is getting almost too much. I don\’t want it to stop and yet I find myself bogged down with it as well and even some fear as we move into another new normal with Police Department changes. Yes, there are bad cops – always in every group – but what about all the good ones?

Oh my, I guess I will hold on to Franklin D Roosevelt\’s quote – \”There is nothing to fear but fear itself,\” and a nice Scripture quote . . .

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.  And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 4:6-7

The Countdown is on!

So I started yesterday on the book and I figure I now have 133 days to collect stories, edit them, do layout and publish! Perhaps this is my new normal for the next few months. 🙂

Please add \”your\” three gratitude moments in the comments. It\’s a great way to pick up your day and it\’s fun for the rest of us to read!

  1. Grateful for a quiet day at home
  2. Grateful for leftover soup tonight. Easy prep. 🙂
  3. Grateful I did the vacuuming yesterday and I don\’t have to do it today!
