\"CanadianSo far this month we have had almost five inches of rain. This is about two and a half times the normal dumping if I remember the latest weather report. Today we\’ve only had clouds and a few moments where the sun almost peaked through. But rain or not I wanted to get a photo of the Columbia river for this blog. So after an hour or more of checking out some antique stores in Uptown, Jon drove me down to Marine Park and I got my pictures.

Canadian Geese at Marine Park

There was a small flock of Canadian geese swimming along the edge and I even got a few video bits of them. They always look big but they looked even bigger in the water. Maybe all their feathers go into fluff mode to give them more buoyancy?  No idea really but they were fun to watch. Very tame. We walked along the shore past them and they didn\’t seem bothered by our invasion.
There were two other people on the beach but other than that we had it completely to ourselves. Probably because the park is semi closed for the year. This also meant there was no parking fee which was nice. Very restful and beautiful.
A flock of US birds (Air Force jets) soared across the sky probably on their way back from a practice maneuver. Was exciting to see them coming in over the Columbia river.
It was a very nice and quiet day at the park. Came home and worked a bit figuring out this new website theme. So far I think I like it but does things a little differently than others I\’ve worked on. Always something new to learn.
Here is a link to a little more information about the park.
