\”Gratitude turns what we have into enough\”

Day 1 of Giving Thanks

So I sat myself down and had a little talk. The gist of it was that I need to concentrate on all the wonderful blessings in my life and NOT give all the negative Gloomies any more free board and room.

The next thing that had to go was the whole company of the \”What If\’s\” family. There was a lot of squawking and protesting but I just kicked them out the door. Out. Out. Out.

Finally the whole, stinking company of \”What will people think\” gang had to be force-ably removed. You should have heard the screaming from that bunch! Still echoing in my head they put up such a holler. But they had to go.

I\’m not quite sure how I am going to prevent them from sneaking back in because the whole bunch of them are a sneaky, wily, conniving group of malcontents but I will keep my guard up and the minute I see any of their beedy, little eyes peeking out around a corner I will blast them with my Positive Laser Blaster.

I\’ve already picked out 21 gratitude quotes to fuel the next 21 days with. That should at least give me a start for each day. And who knows when I am through this set of 21 days I might even do 21 more!

This could turn into a life turnaround thing.

Filling each day with Gratitude

What we think about determines how we live our day, how we interact with others and what level of confidence we are living. By filling our thoughts with gratitude for all that we presently have we start working from a place of abundance versus a place of lack.

With a positive mindset we are open to doing and being more. For too long I have been allowing myself to be trapped in negative possibilities rather than positive ones. And that is definitely a road to nowhere.

With a little help from the Saints

In the past the most successful way I found to get excited about life was to read an inspirational book, usually about a saint such as Padre Pio or St. Anthony. Now truthfully I am not that sure that all the wonderful miracles associated with them were not overly enhanced. But whether they were or not reading about them did fill me with a big dose of hope and a feeling I could call upon them for a miracle or two.

Once I had zoned in on a saint or two I would enlist their help for whatever project I was working on. So I think I need to do that again. This time I am going to call upon Saints Peter and Paul.

21 Day Novena to Saints Peter & Paul

I know there are all sorts of semi official novena prayers but I don\’t feel that comfortable with the wording of them. They are a tad bit over the top for me right now, so I\’m going to keep it simple.

Saints Peter and Paul – please help me with my book. Amen.

That\’s it.

Please add \”your\” three gratitude moments in the comments. It\’s a great way to pick up your day and it\’s fun for the rest of us to read!

  1. Working on a new Memory Game – brain work!
  2. Glad for family and friends!
  3. Reading a good book
