Just quit already

Two days ago I got an official letter from the Secretary of the State informing me that my business had been dissolved because I did not send in the annual year end report.

If I had remembered that I was to do such a thing I would have but the thought just never registered for a second. So much for my business savvy.

Anyway, after reading that letter and realizing how many hoops I would have to jump through and the money it would take to get reinstated and add those realities to the fact that all my business attempts only SPENT money and made very little – I decided that letter was really a kindness to my self.

So I have decided to just STOP it all and get off the \”I got to have a job and make money and earn an income and contribute to the world,\” merry-go-round and just relax and drift happily into retirement and see what happens.

I\’m still going to keep learning and playing with Pinterest and animations and video but all just for the pleasure of keeping occupied and having fun with it.

Please add \”your\” three gratitude moments in the comments. It\’s a great way to pick up your day and it\’s fun for the rest of us to read!

  1. Letting go . . .
  2. Cloudy day but nice
  3. Relaxing

  1. Hi,

Good for you. Glad you have retired. Whatever you do , do it for fun and relaxation and if a little money comes along with it, terrific, if not that is terrific also.
Sunny and chilly out, beautiful sky and clouds.
Having left over spaghetti for dinner.
    Grateful for Health
    Grateful for Family
    Grateful for left over spaghetti

    1. Yes, that is what I think. Especially now with Covid 19 taking up so much of life – it seems rather out of step to be trying to not live in the moment.
And yes – grateful for Spaghetti first time or third is always Yum!

  2. Welcome to the “World of Retirement!” I know you will enjoy retirement, and with all the many interest s that you have, you shouldn’t have any difficulty filling up the time. God Bless you and may you have a wonderful, relaxing life of retirement.

I retired at the age of 54, and have now been retired for 33 years. At the time, had to retire because of my husband’s deteriorating health, and the first sixteen years were very difficult–but after the grief of his death settled down, I have been enjoying life immensely, until the dear Lord called home my companion of the past fourteen years, just five months ago. I am lost now–but life goes on! Please whisper a little prayer for me, as I do for you, Patty.

Thank you for posting more often recently. Love when I come on and see a post of yours!

    1. Hi LaVern – oh I am sorry for the loss of your companion. It is sad, isn’t it – all this letting go . . . sad, sad sad. But I’m counting on Spiritual reunions of the grandest kind in eternity. It’s a hope that brings some comfort – I take whatever I can get.

  3. Hi, Patty – Wondering if you have stopped working on your biography book? Don’t remember seeing anything about it in a while.

I apologize if it’s already been done and out, I may have missed the memo 🙂

    1. Hi Roby – No you didn’t miss anything. I got terrible bogged down in writing it – I guess I was too mixed up in my head and writing it only made things worse so I put it on hold. Perhaps now that I have “retired” I will pick it up again – but not sure.
      🙂

      1. I hope you do. You have had a very interesting life, and I think that many would enjoy reading about it!
But do take this time to relax and enjoy where you are now 🙂
        Roby

  4. Glad to hear you retired.Believe it or not you will be bury in your retirement .The difference between retirement and wiring is that you pick and choose what you want to do.
    Enjoy every minute.

    1. Thanks Joan. I hope so – though yesterday I felt like I had landed on a deserted island and didn’t know what to do. Hmmm. I need to rethink where to spend my time and energy. 🙂
