We become what we love

I have loved this quote of Saint Clare for a long time and I think it is very true. It\’s a very simple way to take a look at our inner self just by asking the question what is it I love today?

I suppose the answer \”should be\” that we love God first and foremost but I don\’t know that is always front of mind for me. I remember hearing that if we want to know what is taking up our thoughts all we have to do is look at where we are spending our money. Sort of a cold, brutal look I suppose but it does put things in perspective.

I seem to be spending too much money on coaching and other programs to figure out how to make money to pay off my bills. It\’s a mad circle as the more I worry the more I seem to grab at things to help me and the more things just get worse.

Today I was praying about it and the answer came through pretty loud and clear. You cannot serve God and money.

Oh bother. So it\’s back to walking by faith again is it?

I\’m not figuring out this store thing very fast. But of course everything takes much longer than I think so I guess it\’s fine. Or not. I mean really, it would be nice if it just all made sense and I could move on with things.

1. Finished the book, Educated. Yes, it was good. And totally yes am I glad to be done with it. Very depressing. I am sorry she had to go through everything she did and she came out more than one could expect. I agree with Cathy that it is a book I will probably be thinking about for a long time.
2. Thought my computer was on the blink but just operator error. Well, really!
3. Jon is cooking dinner and I\’m ready to go eat it! 🙂
