Mahjong, Christmas Simon Says, and Memory Games

Well, so how did the day go? Not so well. I was a bit grayed out by the gray day I think. Or maybe just rebelling from life. Hard to say. I didn\’t get much done. Mostly just battled with my conscience about the articles I should be writing but wasn\’t. I have wonderful wars with myself.

In the evening I decided a batch of chocolate chip cookies would probably solve my problems. I had been having problems with the stove but my landlord had come over, looked at it and after a bit of testing we both decided it was okay. I had told him I would make another batch of cookies to test it out. So did that. The test failed. The oven is still not behaving itself. The first batch was fine. The second batch came out dark with even less time. I looked at the thermometer and it had gained 75 more degrees and climbing. Not good. I turned the oven down and cooked a batch that I had already put out on a cookie sheet and watched it closely. Came out okay. Not perfect, but okay. After that I wrapped up the rest of the cookie dough and put it in the refrigerator for another day.

Called my landlord back up and he agreed the stove had a problem. Luckily I only use the oven for cookies as my toaster oven works great for most other things. I did get three dozen cookies made and that ought to satisfy my sweet cravings for a bit! I had three and then after that didn\’t want to see another cookie at all!

Story from First Book: An Engaging Encounter

Typed up another story from the first rosary book to share on this page. See \”An Engaging Encounter\” above. Really nice story.

I listened to an online seminar about Google Plus this morning. Was very interesting. Another bit of Social Media I need to jump into and learn more about. I always feel at the bottom of the learning curve of it all. Think most people feel that way. Technology changes way too fast for the average human brain to connect with I think. Well, at least the older ones like mine!

  1. Oh my goodness. What a day you had. At least you got to indulge in cookies. I had the same problem with my oven it was old. So they finally agreed I needed a new one and it works like a charm. They said I was a good tenant so I deserved one. That was a nice of them to say this to me. Although I think the reason was they had to get one as it was around the time of our inspection so it had to look good for the inspector. But then again I could be wrong ho hum any way I got one and that’s all that matters. Well sorta busy getting ready for my trip next week. Pray the flight goes well. Have a Blessed week end. 2. Hi,

The puzzle is precious. I think the doldrums this time of year is called “Holidayitis” can set in 3 weeks before the actually date of the Holiday and then it goes away. Best remedy is happy music. Such as Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer, perks one up when you hear that song. 🙂 and of course all the baked goodies are the recommended diet.:) Be well, and I think many of us have Holidayitis, I know I do. I will be find the week of or a few days before, right now it is push, push push.
