“Gratitude will shift you to a higher frequency, and you will attract much better things.”

The Gratitude Shift

I have to say this is definitely working for me. Every time a worry or anxious thought comes in I try to remember to replace it with something I am thankful for. And just like shifting your car from reverse to drive it changes the whole direction of movement.

Most of us heard the maxim in Driver\’s Education that whatever you are looking at when you are behind the wheel, you drive towards. Our brains are just geared that way. Of course we take sneak peeks in our mirrors but the main focus needs to be on the road and for heaven\’s sake not texting!

But surprisingly I bet I spend 80% of my thoughts focused on ten things at once. This is why I end up at the end of the day in a muddle! Of course I know I shouldn\’t do that but I do – now I am trying very hard to rein myself in by using gratitude thinking as a sort of highway for my thoughts.

The more I can work on something and be in a grateful centered focus about it the less I feel I should be doing something else. If I\’m glad to be right where I am right now, than it\’s okay to stay there and complete the task.

Higher Frequency Thinking

Now here is an interesting thought. When I was in the Navy I was a Cryptologic technician which basically meant I took a 2.5 second piece of radio code and translated it. The code was not on just one frequency though it was scattered across many frequencies in a wide band of radio waves.

This was a code type created by the Russians and during its day was thought to be impossible to decode. But somehow the real brains in cryptologic detection (not me) came up with the equipment to capture the signal from the air and save it. All that us little minions had to do was grab the code with our equipment and start breaking it apart.

Now if the code had been sent simply across one frequency it would have taken very little effort to grab and decode. With it spread across many frequencies special equipment was needed.

The simpler we can focus our thought energy and mental processes to one frequency the faster we can arrive at results. No special computer needed.

I am not sure what Rhonda Byrne meant when she said that gratitude will switch us to a higher frequency – perhaps she meant more on a spiritual level. Which makes sense to me. But I do think that whatever frequency we are tuned into it\’s best to stay the course with one at a time.

So for now I continue with day 6 of my 21 day experiment to focus on gratitude, thankfulness and appreciation for all that God and each day offers.

Scripture quote for the day

May he give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed.
Psalm 20:4

Please add \”your\” three gratitude moments in the comments. It\’s a great way to pick up your day and it\’s fun for the rest of us to read!

  1. Weeks shopping done. Yay.
  2. Thinking about going the American Legion to put a little more \”social\” in our lives. Both Jon and I are Navy vets. Go Navy. 🙂
  3. As far as I can tell I did not get any miracle yesterday (though I asked for a couple) I did make it through the day, surviving a heavy dose of negative attitude that I think was a result of weather, being tired and hormones. 🙁 – I did try to be grateful for it all but it was not easy! Jon fixed me a coke and rum and that did help. Yes it did. 🙂

  2. Hi June!
Thanks for your three grateful thanks! I am so jealous of you having fresh eggs. Growing up we raised a lot of chickens and nothing is so good as a fresh egg or two or ? Once when I was about in the third grade I had seven eggs for breakfast. Yum.

We are having sun here too. Just got back from our walk – cold but sunny.
    Have a great day!

  4. Hello and THANK YOU Patty for your 21 days of gratitude posts. They couldn’t be coming at a better time. I’m going through some “negative stuff” right now and your posts are pulling me through each day with thoughts to reflect in a more positive thinking pattern. Negativity is in full control and it is causing me a lot of anxiety and your inspirational posts are giving me the tools and strength to know I can turn this car around if I try harder and put the wheel back in the positive position and reverse the gears away from the negative.

    Grateful for
    You and this inspirational post
