When you need a helping hand

One thing that I really relied on a lot in the monastery was getting help from the saints. And I don\’t mean just the canonized ones.

But I believed then and still do that there is more to this life than just today. That all the people we loved in our life time are still very much with us, interested in us, and ready to help us.

Love doesn\’t end with death. The connection is not severed even though we cannot reach out and touch in a physical sense. There are still powerful, unseen bonds of communication that are connected by love.

Anyway, two days ago I was thinking that I really need help from two of my biggest supporters for my projects when I was in the monastery. And those two were Sr. Eileen and Sr. Mary Rita. Both of them are in heaven (see no reason why not!). I had been sort of holding back from asking their help as I was thinking, \”Oh they won\’t be interested in helping me after I left the monastery.\”

But you know what?

When I asked them both to help me out I was almost immediately helped.

I woke up yesterday with no enthusiasm to push my business forward in any way I could see some success. But I started thinking about how I used to ask for a lot of help from the saints and I wasn\’t doing that very much. And I thought I wonder if those two sisters would be interested in helping me out?

Turns out they were. I sent an email about the Vancouver Brew Fest and immediately got a \”yes\” reply. Jon had to go to a store to get a machine part and it was a store I had been thinking of contacting. So this invisible push said, \”Go for it!\” I did.

Of course I also asked for others in my family to help, (Mom, Dad, brothers, etc.) and anyway they all seem to be pulling together up there and there doesn\’t seem to be any concern about being in the Monastery or not. They just wanted to help me.

You may think this is way out weird . . . but look – if you need help on anything, anything at all – I bet there are loved ones here and there (there as being in heaven) that will help. You just have to ask.
