\"J\"ust a small note as I get ready to go work at Oakville Church.

Looks like a beautiful day! I planted my petunias too early I think (found out after I had planted them of course, that it\’s better to wait till May!) so I have been covering them at night with black plastic garbage bags. I can see the difference already from having a warm night versus a cold one. Yesterday when I uncovered them instead of looking all flat and spread out like they were freezing to death they were high and lifted up and ready to dance into bloom. I almost felt like they were thanking me for my extra trouble to keep them warm.

On Monday I went to the eye doctor and got it verified that I indeed have Shingles in my right eye. I am keeping on with the same medication which I started on Friday. So far it is working amazingly well. I am much improved! For the most part there is very little pain either so thanks to everyone\’s prayers on that score! I am being super, duper vigilant to take the medicine every five and six hours even though it means a rather jumbled up sleep night – but it sure beats it getting worse!

Today is the feast of Saint Catherine of Siena

  1. Hi Patricia

Prayers are being answered for you. I will send a prayer request out for continued healing from shingles. So glad it does not hurt, shingles can be terribly painful.

The puzzle today is exquisite. Just beautiful.

Continue to take good care of your self.

Your plants are doing great with you tender care, good for you for thinking of covering them at night, they will be beautiful when the weather is warmer. Today we have rain and the temps are only 49 degrees, bizarre weather for us in the Northern VA area. We are just outside of DC by MD line. Could be worse, the terrible tornadoes thru the south have been horrible.

Take good care Patricia. Again the puzzle is beautiful.

  2. Dear Patricia,
So sorry about the shingles in your eye. It sounds so very painful. I have heard that shingles really affects the nerves. So thankful your medication is working. Pray the shingles leave you quickly. You just over worked your body and it had to come out some place. Glad your other jobs are not as stressful and not at night. You are always in my prayers.
    Blessings& Love,
    Mary B.

  3. Good morning,Patricia, glad to hear you got a diagnosis re: your eye. I had no idea that shingles could also affect our eyes.

So with the medicine I guess you’ll be fine soon?

Have a good day & yes those petunias I’m sure, are appreciating the little bit of warmth at night.

God bless, Carol p.s. I’m accompanying my son on Thurs. morning when he goes for his next cancer treatment. Please pray that the side effects are minimal.

  4. How frightening to have shingles in your eye! Has this affected your vision then? How soon did you detect and treat? I know there is a window where if you come to the doctor for treatment …i think it’s within 3 days….that the medicine is very effective! We trust in our God to give us what we need for every moment of our life…..and you are an inspiration, dear Pat!

    Easter Blessings and
    God Bless….body, mind, and soul!

  5. Patricia,
Should you have time you can check with http://www.web.md and put in question about shingles. There is a slide presentation of shingles and it includes shingle of the eye. I never heard of this before but if it is as painful as it looks I don’t know how you continue to drive or work.
    Praying for you.
    Love,
    O’Nell
