Mahjong,  Christmas Simon Says, and  Memory Games

Another very cold day. Went out in a bit to do some shopping and dog walking with my sister but then back home to my warm little house. Guess this cold is affecting most of the country. Brrrr. At least it warms up on Monday a bit.

Last night I couldn\’t get my feet warm so I did a trick I had read somewhere. I got a big sock, filled it with rice and tied a knot at the end. Put it in the microwave for two minutes and had an instant rice bag. I was nice and toasty once my feet got warm! What is nice about tying the sock rather than sewing it (which I had done last year) is that when the sock gets a bit gray around the edges it\’s easy to dump the rice out, wash it and put the rice back in again or fill it with new.

Getting close to the time to put in back in the microwave and head to bed. Amazing how having a nice warm spot in the bed makes things so much more inviting!

Have a very wonderful day and stay warm! I\’m off to grab my little mystery book and have a good nights sleep. You too, I hope.

\"rosarycover-8a\" Rosary Book Update:

Day 33 of Book Production

140 days till Publication

I have such big plans to do so much in the morning and at the end of the day have done so little. But more and more I am being convicted by the words of Saint John the Baptist. \”He must increase and I must decrease.\”

To me this means, stop thinking it\’s all up to me to accomplish things. Because obviously if that is the case nothings going to happen. One thing I did do to be a bit proactive on following through with this nudge from John the Baptist was to take my name off of the book cover and put the website on it for CatholicMobilizing.org. A part of my thinking for doing this book for a cause was that it would build up awareness for the other books I have done and hope to do in the future.

I decided that wasn\’t being honest and fully giving to the cause. A long time ago after reading Father Patrick Peyton\’s book I made a commitment to belong to Mary\’s one hundred percent club. Father Peyton\’s priest friend told him when he was very close to dying from Tuberculosis that you can trust Mary for as much as you want. And as much as you trust is how much she will help. Forty percent. Sixty percent. Eighty or one hundred percent. I\’m going for the one hundred percent. I know I can\’t do it perfectly and it might actually be much, much less – but at least I am trying to give one hundred percent and trusting she will take my hearts intention and make up for what l lack in courage, self-giving and laziness to do the rest.

Not much else going around. I am trying to learn a video program called Camtasia so I can make a book trailer and maybe put a few mini videos on this blog now and then. I have used the old version before but been awhile and so trying to get back into it.

  2. Hi

I like the idea of the rice in a sock and microwave it and use as a foot warmer. A very good idea.

we are supposed to have freezing rain starting at 11 this morning and continue thru the day and into the early hours of tomorrow morning, rain and freezing rain. will definitely have tons of munchies and do my wrapping of Christmas gifts.

All will come together regarding the book. I know it will. Maybe it will be a small book with stories of faith and strength the rosary has brought someone.

Have a wonderful Sunday Patricia, enjoy your book.
