Kitten Puzzle

Little gardening goes a long way

This year I wanted to plant potatoes and we decided for our needs doing it in big pots would be easy and probably provide enough for two at least for a while. We bought a box of seed potatoes for under $3 at Winco on our last shopping trip and put them into growing mode today. All in all we planted 8 potatoes – didn\’t even cut them up as that is how many there were in the box and that was perfect for the pots we were using.

I read that some people actually grow them in garbage cans – and I think that would work great too – though they would need to have holes in for drainage. I was lucky to have these two pots as my brother Peter had gifted me with them several years ago completely planted for salad picking.

We will do a bit more planting in the next few days – hopefully when the weather turns a little nicer. Quite drizzly today.

What to do?

I still haven\’t decided what I want to do with my time. In some ways all the business starting stuff or writing I was doing was pretty much what I wanted to do anyway and not worrying about making a profit is a bit less worrisome but leaves me rather adrift.

Yesterday I did not turn on my computer at all to see what that would be like. It was fine. But if I don\’t work (or play) on the computer what to do?

So far my list is made up of things I don\’t much want to do – and nothing seems even casually interesting to pursue in other directions. I guess the Lazy, Dazy, Crazy bug has found a good home in me.

I\’m even using old puzzles I have made before. Why not?

Please add \”your\” three gratitude moments in the comments. It\’s a great way to pick up your day and it\’s fun for the rest of us to read!

  1. Planted potatoes.
  2. Writing this blog post.
  3. Enjoying the day.

  1. I hope the potatoes grow and you have a great harvest.
I went for my first walk today with a mask. Since all this started, I will go for a ride every 4 days and every 7 to 9 days, I will go to the grocery store. Today I went to the high school close by and walked around the high school. All tracks are closed and that is fine with me. I than drove to 5 other schools to check them out, one other will be good for walking, the others have too many areas gated off. I wore my mask, no gloves and enjoyed the long walk. The school complex is equal to 2 blocks in my neighborhood. So that is pretty good. I walked for about 20 minutes. I arranged a face time lunch with 2 of my grand daughters. We really enjoyed our 45 minutes of chatting and laughing and having lunch.
    Grateful for:
Face Time lunch with 2 of the grands
My first 20 minute walk away ( not in my yard)
    Shrimp for dinner

  2. Have you tried sawing or knitting. They are both fun things to do and relaxing. Obviously God is taking you in a different directions.
I hope your potatoes grow well and you have a great harvest. Enjoy your day.

  3. Love the pictures! Good luck with your taters! I have been riding my stationery bike two miles a day! Have done a lot of closet and attic cleaning! Also drawers in different rooms! Like playing games on the computer and my phone. FaceTiming relatives and friends has been nice especially during this stay at home order! Do need my hair colored! ?❤️
