“Yesterday is history,
tomorrow is a mystery,
today is a gift of God,
which is why
we call it the present.”

Who knows what the day will bring?

If we were to think of each day as an unopened present from God how excited we would be to open it.

Sometimes I wake up thinking I know just how the day is going to go. And if I think there is something exciting about the day I wake up with enthusiasm, but if there is something dreaded to be done than my mind is already dreading it before my feet hit the floor.

A better way would be to trust that the day is a gift of God. That wonderful things are waiting to happen.

I remember birthdays as a kid and how excited I was to see the stack of presents set before me. Often times they were not expensive but no matter it was such fun to take off the bow and rip off the paper and see what each one was.

My most favorite presents were games or books. Almost always there would be some sort of board game that my sister Barb and I would play for hours. We were only a year apart so it really didn\’t matter whose birthday it was the presents were shared.

Perhaps we should be that excited for the day that will be for others as well. And maybe even go a step further and think up a way to make the day extra special or fun for them – as we would if it was there birthday.

Maybe in some small way we can be Happy Day Givers. Find things to share that are fun, special and nice.

I found this Pinterest picture today and it made me laugh.

I\’m not really into hiding drugs (not anymore that is) but it has had me laughing all day.

Please add \”your\” three gratitude moments in the comments. It\’s a great way to pick up your day and it\’s fun for the rest of us to read!

  1. Took some puzzle books to a new store and hoping they will carry them. Seemed positive.
  2. Got the \”okay!\” to have a booth at the Vancouver Beer Festival in August.
  3. Made it through the day without coffee. Seems to be helping my anxiety level. Figured it was more physical than mental and I needed to do something about it.
