Do things for people not because
of who they are or what they do in return,
but because of who you are.”

Life keeps merrily on

Today is Wednesday and it\’s been weeks and weeks since I have posted but I\’m back. I have been working quite a bit on my business and feel like most of the foundational parts are in place so I feel in a better state of calm and peace about things.

\"aA few days ago I bought a beautiful Daphne plant for my sister because we have two in our yard and they smell so sweet! But unfortunately she found out that everything about the Daphne plant is poisonous. The leaves, the blossoms and the berries. So because she is a doting Grandmother of a two year old boy (grand mischief maker) this is not a gift she could accept. Oh my. Understand that. So now we will have three plants and I can live with that. I think I will call it, Barby\’s plant though.

I haven\’t worked on my memoir since last year. Hmmmm. I will get back to it by and by – think I have to be at a good place in my head and soul to continue with it. Am almost there. Ha. Ha.

Why Stay Catholic

\"Pinterest

This is my favorite book (as I have shared before) to keep me Catholic centered when I feel like hitting the road. I decided I would like to make pins from some of the thoughts in the book – because I like them.

You can find this book on Amazon or read more about Michael\’s book at Franciscan Media.

Hope you are all doing well and looking forward to Spring. Here in Vancouver it is already showing signs of it being on the way.

Please add \”your\” three gratitude moments in the comments. It\’s a great way to pick up your day and it\’s fun for the rest of us to read!

  1. Making small steps with my business every day.
  2. Reading lots of good books. Am retired after all . . .
  3. Feeling so blessed to have a wonderful husband, nice home, sweet pets and a nice life. God is good – all the time.

  1. Nice you are back. Glad you got quite a bit accomplished with your business. Good for you. I did not know the Daphne plant was poisonous. I am a new great grandmother. Last evening little Carter James arrived . He is so sweet. He weighed in at 7 lbs 10 oz.
    Grateful for:
    Family and friends
    You and your posts
Food on the table and a roof over my head

    1. Congratulations on your great grand-baby! How wonderful and I am sure he is sweet and going to only get sweeter!
Daphne is poisonous? Oh my – sad. I suppose it is best to be safe than sorry. We don’t have kids at our house and the dogs and cat have never been the slightest bit interested in the plant so we plan to keep it.

  2. Welcome back. Missed you too! Glad you take time off when you need it, also that you’re making progress, are well and doing fine.
I’ve adopted 2 senior dogs 2 weeks ago. The dogs I had died, one this past summer and the other the winter before. I really missed them. I’m in my mid 70’s and decided 2 old lady dogs would be just right the right energy level for me. Well, it’s quite an adjustment. I didn’t realize how inactive I’ve been! So I’m still trying to catch up to them and myself and am quite tired before they day is done! Well worth it though. They’ve brought life and more joy into the house again.

    1. The above was from me, June. I didn’t mean to be anonymous!
Thankful for my 2 “new” dogs.
      Sunshine.
A husband who also appreciates dogs.

  3. Patty, I had been thinking about you and wondering how you are doing since I had not seen a post in a few months at least. Then yesterday I opened my email and there you were! Your posts are always so fun to read. I have been following you since your Monastery days!
    Gratitude Moments:
I give thanks for my children, grandchildren and all my family!
Sweet moments today with my special needs daughter. Love, love, love.
Some progress made towards sorting/filing/shredding old paperwork/documents.
